My path to helping you
Hi, I'm Carol Covelli, a licensed therapist who took a unique turn into becoming a Brainspotting Coach.
My journey started like many therapists, working in various settings from community mental health to group practice and eventually establishing my private practice. As I expanded my business and honed my skills, I found joy in reshaping my practice to focus on clients I was truly passionate about helping.
Yet, there was a yearning for more.
In recent years, my excitement shifted towards business growth and, more specifically, the emotional intricacies of evolving a business. I took notice of a connection between deep-rooted experiences and business success, prompting my interest in coaching. However, I wasn't certain about the form this coaching practice should take.
Around the same time, I became intrigued by Brainspotting and decided to explore it after a trusted colleague's recommendation. Already certified in EMDR, I was eager to add other specialized skills to my therapy practice.
Little did I know then, Brainspotting would be the crucial element for the coaching practice I envisioned. It turned out to be the key for providing the coaching with depth I longed to do, working with the intricate connection between the professional and emotional realms.
By integrating Brainspotting into coaching, I facilitate a unique approach that honors these deep emotional connections while empowering achievement of professional goals. This approach to coaching enables a comprehensive exploration of challenges and setbacks, leading to sustainable growth, empowerment, goal achievement and optimized performance.

About Brainspotting Coaching
How does Brainspotting coaching work?
Brainspotting goes beyond traditional coaching methods by incorporating the latest insights from neuroscience and psychology.
In Brainspotting coaching, we locate a specific eye position, known as a brainspot, that is associated with the level of stress (a.k.a. activation) you feel in relation to the issue we’re addressing. Gazing into this brainspot allows us to delve into brain-body connections that underlie the issue that’s hindering your optimal professional performance.
Let’s talk about Brainspotting coaching for perfectionism
Brainspotting coaching leverages the principles of Brainspotting to access your neurophysiology in order to identify, process and release past experiences that are stuck in your mind and body, that show up in your life today as limiting beliefs and behaviors, such as perfectionism.
By identifying and addressing these blocks at the neurobiological level, you can experience transformative breakthroughs, unlocking your full potential and achieving heightened levels of success.
As a growth-focused business owner aiming for excellence, Brainspotting coaching offers a unique and effective pathway to overcome internal limitations and align your mind and body so you can achieve sustained results and attain your goals.
How Do I know if Brainspotting coaching is right for me?
Brainspotting coaching may be right for you if:
You’ve tried cognitive-based or task oriented coaching and didn’t find it helpful
You’re interested in coaching that connects the mind and body to access and process your professional challenges.
You align with the idea of addressing your performance-related challenge at a deeper level.
You see identifying and addressing mental blocks and barriers that may be hindering your performance is a vital component to your professional growth.
You see the importance of releasing stored tension and emotional blockages, as a means to increase your resilience and confidence, which can be invaluable when facing future high-pressure situations, setbacks or scaling your business.
You’re open to the neurobiological approach of Brainspotting to manage your stress more effectively because it connects to the roots of stress and helps you develop healthier coping mechanisms for sustained high performance.
You’re seeking to uncover and release your untapped potential by addressing subconscious obstacles in order to pave a pathway for personal and professional growth.
You’re looking to access a peak performance mindset by addressing psychological barriers so you can increase your confidence, motivation, and a tap into a positive outlook on challenges.
You value a holistic approach that considers both the mental and physical aspects of performance that helps to ensure improvements are not only on the surface but deeply ingrained.
Brainspotting coaching may not be right for you if:
You prefer a coaching approach other than Brainspotting. It's essential to choose a method that resonates with your beliefs and comfort level.
You’re not ready for the introspective nature of Brainspotting coaching. If you aren’t currently prepared or comfortable delving into introspection, this approach may not be suitable at this time.
You’re seeking task oriented solutions or a quick fix. Brainspotting is an intrapersonal process that follows the internal readiness of the individual. If you're looking for quick, immediate solutions, you might prefer a different, more action-oriented approach.
You’re not open to the Brainspotting process. Brainspotting involves looking at specific points and allowing for the deeper connections that may come up to be processed, then Brainspotting coaching may not be suitable for you.
You’re experiencing mental health concerns, a mental health disorder or have an active substance abuse issue for which you are not currently in treatment, or if you are seeking assistance related to a mental health concern or disorder, then a comprehensive mental health treatment plan with a licensed therapist would be more appropriate.
If you’re not comfortable with expressing emotions. Brainspotting often involves the expression of emotions during sessions. If you are uncomfortable with or resistant to expressing emotions, this approach may not align with your preferences.
Financial or practical constraints. If you are facing financial or practical constraints that limit your ability to engage consistently in Brainspotting sessions, you may want to find a coaching situation that works best with your situation.
